Japan electronics giant Toshiba has freshly launched the Tecra R940 laptop. The device is priced at $1,992 and is considered to be the most expensive model in the Tecra Series and is deliberate to be a serious business laptop.
Tecra R940 will be competing with the recently released Samsung Series 9, Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon and Asus Zenbook Prime UX31A that are well known for their solid drives and long battery life.
The features of Tecra R940 include a 14-inch screen with 1366×766 pixel resolution at 16:9 aspect ratios. It is driven by a dual-core Intel i5 processor with latest Ivy Bridge integrated graphics. It has 4GB of RAM with 500GB hard drive that spins at 7200rpm. It also has a DVD drive and its dimensions are 341 x 239 x 27.4mm and weighs 2000 grams.
The Tecra R940 connectivity has both wireless and cable specifications. Its cable connectivity opt a RJ45 Ethernet connection for internet access, two USB 3.0 ports, VGA, Display Port video outputs and a multi-card reader. In terms of wireless connectivity options it has 3G mobile broadband capabilities, Bluetooth 4.0, and Wi-Fi. Its embedded security features include Intel WiDi, eSATA, a fingerprint scanner, an Express Card slot, a ThinkPad-style pointer as well as a track pad. It also has an Intel vPro CPU and a self-encrypting hard drive.
