The new “Voice Tablets”, Slate 7 VoiceTab and Slate 6 VoiceTab were launched by HP recently.
These handsets are a first for HP since 2011. With Android 4.2 Jelly Bean running under, these phones will be getting an Indian launch in February this year and yes, the prices are yet to be revealed by the company.
As far as the specifications are concerned, both these devices feature a Quad-core processor, 16GB of storage space that can further be expanded via a microSD card, 2 megapixel front and 5 megapixel rear camera, and front-facing speakers.
Slate 6 VoiceTab sports a 1280×720 6-inch IPS display while Slate 7 VoiceTab features a 7-inch IPS panel capable of producing a resolution of 1280×800. The frames measure sub 9 millimetres and 9.5 millimetres respectively.
It is yet to be decided by the company whether they are going to release these phones outside India but “something positive” is still on the cards, according to company executive Ron Coughlin.
He said that numerous reasons were taken into consideration on why they have chosen India as the launch pad for these phones. The first and foremost reason to make such a move is because India is a big market and is expanding every passing day.
