Apple unveiled its new Retina display enabled iPad mini recently and as the name suggests, it features a 7.9 inch Retina display with a resolution of 2048×1536. This is the same resolution that comes with the new iPad Air. Moreover, this latest offering from Apple also packs in the A7 processor that the larger sibling sports.
MIMO tech is also coming with the device that helps in doubling up the performance of the Wi- Fi, along with an expanded support of 4G LTE. It also comes with a 5 mega pixel rear camera and an improved front- facing FaceTime HD camera.
The new mini will be made available for the general public in late November and will be coming in silver and space grey colour options. The Wi- Fi- ready models of 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB will be coming with a price- tag of $399, $499, $599 and $699 respectively. To get the goodness of 4G LTE, one needs to shell out $529, $629, $729 and $829 for 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB models.
Giving this new entrant company will be the iPad mini first generation. The 16GB version of the first generation will be made available for $299.

There are reports that the launch of retina ipad mini would be delayed. The device was expected to be launched by Apple this year during falls but rumours suggest that it might come up in the early part of 2014. Apple Inc has launched its new iPad mini in the New York market on Friday, the 2nd November 2012. The launch covers 34 countries including the U.S., Japan, Germany and Britain. Though it is yet to be officially launched in India, it is available on the E-commerce site Tradus.com.
The iPad mini is available in 3 models – 16GB, 32 GB and 64 GB with the basic 16 GB model available for $329 which comes with only Wi-Fi included.
The features include: 7.9 inch screen with a resolution of 1024×768 pixels; 1.2 megapixel face time camera with HD; and a 5 megapixel camera. It runs on A-5 dual core processor and the battery life is 9 hours on data connection and 10 hours if it is just on Wi-Fi. It is 53 percent lighter and 23 percent thinner than the 3rd generation iPad.
Apple says it sold 3 million iPads in the first 3 days of its launch. Apple CEO Tim Cook stated that the company set a new launch weekend record and practically sold out iPad minis. Apple is said to be still working hard to build more to meet the incredible demand.
