After months of coming out with nothing, Apple recently launched a cheaper and fun iPod Touch.
This latest offering, priced at $229, though is without some key features which used to come with the previous fifth generation touch line.
Apart from missing the lanyard loop, it comes without a camera and storage of only 16GB. Though, it will be featuring a Retina display of 4inch, a front facing HD camera and A5 dual-core processor. It will be offered in 2 exciting colors – silver and black and will sport the similar 5th generation variant’s 6.1mm case.
Last year when it went on sale, the fifth generation iPod Touch was available only in 64GB and 32GB, whereas Apple continued selling its 4th generation model’s in variants of 16GB and 32GB.
This will be Apple’s only summer release before the WWDC. Also, the company is equipping this new iPod with Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories and Vampire Weekend’s Modern Vampires of the City.
And as far as the number goes, the company has sold more than 100mn units of the iPod Touch since its launch in 2007. It is up from 82mn back in July 2012.
